Web Site Training

All Right! Far Out! Woot!

All of these and more. I attended a Plone training session today at the State Library of Iowa in beautiful Des Moines. In addition to the library being one of the coolest looking buildings, I received lessons on building my own web-site.

I love our current site. It has everything that a librarian could want--great layout, ease of use, current information. Everything except the ability to change information at a moment's notice. Len does a fabulous job, but he has a life, too, and can't always drop everything just to fix our web-site. Besides, I don't remember it being part of the vows--to have and to hold, in sickness and in web-site just doesn't sound right. Does it?

Yes, the new site will have a new look. I hope, though, to keep the layout attractive and easy to use. I know that everyone at the library will help with critiquing my work. I am looking forward to it.

I'm also worried! Well, it least concerned--that's not the same as worried. I want to do the best job that I possibly can. Here's hoping! I'll keep you updated.

Now, to the important information:February 2 is National Create a Vacuum Day; February 9 is National Toothache Day (let's skip this one); February 10 is National Umbrella Day (Brolly to our UK friends); and February 16 is National Do a Grouch a Favor Day.

Now, here in Iowa we were just overwhelmed with snow. It's not unusual, I know. But there is, on February 20, National Hoodie Hoo Day. It's for those of us who need a boost toward spring. At high noon everyone yells "Hoodie-Hoo" to chase away winter and make way for spring.

Well, it can't hurt and it just might help! No different than Groundhog Day, now is it?

Absurdly,
Pat
