Hokey movies

I love hokey movies, like "Van Helsing." You have a gorgeous hero (Hugh Jackman), a creepy, but gorgeous Dracula (Richard Roxburgh), a totally ridiculous Mr. Hyde and a pretty decent heroine (Kate Beckinsale.) And who could not love Carl, played by David Wenham. "Why does it smell like wet dog in here?" "Werewolf." "Then you'll need these!"

Even Dracula's brides represent all that is good in low budget movies--sexy and dumb minions of the bad guy.

What other movies do I love? Kitschy, of course. The first "Pirates of the Caribbean"; "National Treasure"; "Dirty Dancing" (though I don't admit to that in public!);the first "Matrix"; Errol Flynn swashbuckling flicks; "Court Jester"; and so many more.

Why do I watch these crazy, mindless pieces of celluloid? Because they are good fun. I do goofy very well.

Don't ask me to watch slap-stick, or dumb and dumber, or people urinating against a wall. Nope. Leaves me cold.

Absurdly,
Pat
