Absurd? You want absurd?
A vendor offers a discount on all items purchase if the total price exceeds $50.00. But the $50.00 must be the sum of all items after the discount is applied, if it is applied. So, the items (at the catalog price) total $50.00. A 25% discount is applied and the total of the items are not $37.50--not $50.00. So the discount doesn't apply and you are charged the full $50.00 Oh, plus shipping (which is free if the discount applies).
Screwed both ways.
