Catch as catch can

Today, in 1904, in St. Louis, Missouri, the ice cream cone was invented. Way to go!

The Cedar Rapids Public Library has begun the debate about where to build the new library. It's a hot topic, and well deserves as much input as possible. Let their Board of Trustees know what you think.

This week, at the Hiawatha PL, has been a strange mix of normal and odd. It has seemed to have been a long week, but I have gotten little accomplished. I think that everyone feels the same way.

There are only 8 (or so) days left to the summer reading program. I'm sad and glad that it is almost complete. The staff has done a fantastic job this summer and they are to be congratulated. Hmm. How shall I surprise them this year?

Patrons are also to be thanked. We have a great assortment of people and they are the best in Iowa. We reached unprecedented heights this year because of them. Thank you all so very much.

Absurdly,
Pat
