It's May!

Woo-hoo! Finally warm weather. We have been teased then tormented by the weather this spring. Actually, I don't remember having Spring this year. Just cool, very cool, to cold.

We escaped to St. Louis last month to find warmer weather. Nope. Just more cool, very cool, to cold (with rain). :-) Drats. The irony of it all. (FYI, we had a great time!)

Today is Lumpy Rug Day. Tomorrow is National Candied Orange Peel Day.

Tomorrow is also a Monday. AARRGH! People, books, people, books, books. Cool!

We are surviving at the HPL. Very well. Summer is fast approaching and will be very busy, but we will be closed on Sundays. That will be cool, too.

This isn't library news, but odd anyway. Our little town has one week (this week, btw) when residents can put trash, as much as they want, out on the curb and the city will collect it and get rid of it. The people that drive by, stop and search through other people's trash is amazing. And awesome. This is really recycling at its best. What I don't want, others do. A lot of the stuff disappears overnight. Scavenging, recycling (and theft) at its best. What more could a person want?

Absurdly,
Pat
