Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?
My favorite reference question came just the other day: How far is it from Iowa to Nebraska? (For those of you who really don't know--the two states share a border.)
It's an absurd kind of day. Yesterday I spent several hours in an auditorium, listening to people receive awards for volunteering, but no one said, or had in the brochure, what these giving people had done to receive the honor. I knew what my friend had done and why he and I were there, but no one else. I guess that someone should have had a volunteer gather this info for the program. Hmm.
Today the sun is finally shining and I am back to work. Hmm, again. There is a flitterbug in here today. It just can't seem to settle to a task. I understand the desire to move and talk, but rail against the work not getting done.
Do you know the song that has the lyrics "Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right. Here I am, stuck in the middle . . ." Today is one of those days. But the biggest joke is probably on me. I am sometimes the biggest joker around here. Who else would blog about absurdities?
Ah, well. Time to order new books. Let's see what we can find. (The visual of hands rubbing gleefully together, with mad chortling in the background!)
Absurdly,
Pat
