It was a dark and stormy night when the lights went out—not those old incandescent lights or the fluorescent bulbs, but the new ‘full spectrum” bulbs that you buy at specialty stores (you can’t get them at Wal-Mart, you only get the cheap knock-offs there) that last five or six years and save lots of money and are cute because they are curly, like a pig’s tail but not as smelly if you know what I mean, but are harder to dust than the old roundish light bulbs—and shot echoed in the darkened room—not the stygian dark of Hades . . .
