Yours, mine and ours . . .

Have you ever played a 'yours, mine and ours' game? You know, where we play by my rules or we don't play at all because the game is mine and I'll take it home if I don't get my way? Or the it's mine, but you can have some, but only if . . . You get the idea. It's a terribly selfish way to live.

Who would have thought that librarians could have that attitude? Our lives are built on the premise of helping others. Why would any of us so totally lose sight of that basic way of living--to move so far off base that we are not recognizable to each other?

Just damn.
